Using the illustration of an animal completed for Assignment 3, compose and set a mock up layout for a Postage Stamp using type tools, shape building with the Pathfinder, and Illustrator effects. Follow the guidelines below for Focus and Presentation:

Objectives: Adobe Illustrator

• Type tools

• Scale Tools - (scale strokes and effects preference)

• Drop Shadow and Effects
• Appearance Panel

Requirements: Include the following

• Animal Illustration from Assignment 3
• Create a mockup "paper" stamp shape for the layout with a subtle drop shadow.
• Use the Pathfinder Tool to cut the serrated border into the stamp shape to make a single shape for the stamp's "paper"
• Add a subtle drop shadow using the Illustrator Effects for Drop Shadow
  
• Add Text for the following elements:
  • Animal Name
  • Country
  • Year
  • Monetary Value
  • Currency
• Convert all text to Outlines
• Label all layers.
• Create two versions of the stamp (see below) on the same Artboard
• Add title to the bottom right corner (see below)

Design Focus:

Use good typography choices for the layout and make adjustments to type elements regarding:

• Typeface (Font)
• Type Alignment (use consistent alignments to type elements)
• Type Spacing (give elements good space between positive and negative areas)
• Type Consistency
• Type Hierarchy (make elements stand out through contrast in size, weight, space)

Layout Requirements:

• Art board size = 7.5 inches by 10 inches (landscape orientation)
• 2 versions of stamp - large and small

• Small version size:

• Overall Size = longest side will be 2.0 inches.

• Large Version Size:

• Overall Size = longest side will be 6.5 inches.
• Title - (Bottom Right Corner in 8 pt type):
  • Postage Stamp Mock-up
  • AD 219 Fall 2026
  • First Name Last Name
• Save your file and name it firstname_lastname_stamp.ai

Parameters:

• No Illustrator Brushes, Gradients, Effects, or added Appearances

Optional:

Using stock images from Adobe Creative Cloud (photographs, excluding Generative AI), use the Mock up feature in Adobe Illustrator to create a photographic mock up with the stamp.

Include the photographic Mock up in a small space in the final layout.
